This is a response to one of Blair's recent speeches. He said 9/11 was a wake-up call for him, but most people soon "went back to sleep".

Tony Blair "woke up for a short time and then turned over and went back to sleep again" when the JIC warned him that military action against Iraq would heighten rather than reduce the terrorist threat to western interests.

A dodgy dossier was no "sliver of excuse or justification" for the 2003 invasion. "Let us expose the obscenity of these people saying it is concern for Iraq which drives them" to mislead Parliament into approving a war. If it is concern for Iraq, then why did they kill hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children through sanctions and regularly bomb the "no-fly zone" years before 9/11, and go on to kill another 100,000 people over two years and pollute the land with nuclear waste? Governments will always have a reason, but we shouldn't even allow them the vestige of an excuse for what they do, however warped their reasoning and logic.
